We find that grants that work to build the self sufficiency of project beneficiaries build resilience, and strengthen communities fit best with our mission and goals.
We look for partners that have a proven record of service and are able to leverage their current abilities to enlarge, reproduce, or create new projects that would serve more, new, or different people.
Occasionally we fund programs that have an immediate effect on those the grant recipient serves. These grants are usually given to organizations in emergent circumstances that focus on meeting immediate needs in conjunction with a path to sustainability
Grant recipients within the Central Florida area are known to us, or are referred through community involvement, while grant recipients outside Central Florida are usually referred to the foundation by a board member.
With the hopes of knowing our partners, we schedule a phone interview to find out more about proposed grants to learn about the recipient’s history and goals for effecting its community. A member of The Father’s Table Foundation may then perform a follow-up site visit. Once the board is familiar with the program, and confident that the grant recipient’s goals are aligned with the core values and goals of the foundation, a grant application will be provided.
Grant applications are reviewed annually, except in emergent cases. We ask that grant applications are submitted in their entirety before December 1st. The annual board meeting is held in February, and approved applicants will be notified within 14 days of approval.
