Home to over 40,000 people Alto Trujillo is a place that is full of culture. It is a new community that is on the rise on the sands of the Peruvian coast desert. The people who live there struggle on a daily basis to meet ends meet. They live in dwellings called ranchitos that they built themselves from humble beginnings. The main job opportunities here are attractive to migrants from the highlands. Since the jobs there are scarce or have long hours, kids do not have someone to look after them during the day. The Ministry of the Good Shepherd has built care centers to look after kids while their parents are away. With the help from The Father's Table Foundation, the Ministry of the Good Shepherd will be able to continue operating their care centers.

The Child Care Centers are an after-school care and educational program. Here the sisters from The Ministry of the Good Shepherd take care of the children. The sisters teach the young kids who to read and write and to further develop their learning skills. In addition, they provide food as well since the kids parents may not be able to. The Child Care Centers are a vital part of Alto Trujillo that must be kept open.
