Today being homeless is not something that is uncommon. People are walking around all of us who do not have a job to provide shelter for themselves. In Seminole county, there is a population of people who are currently homeless. Many of them are suffering from mental health issues, substance abuse, and lacks personal self-care. The homeless are made up off different ethnic groups: Caucasians, African Americans, Asian, Hawaiian Islands, Native Americans, and other groups.

Opened back in 2011, the Oasis has been trying to meet the needs of those who are homeless in Seminole County. The Oasis provides any type of service that is needed to help the homeless to achieve stability in all aspects of their lives. To make sure that this is achieved, the Oasis will implement a few ideas. They will provide a dedicated case manager, implement a culture of respect and empathy, and assess their clients to get them onto the housing registry list through HSN. The Oasis desires to have all their clients to have access to necessities such as showers. Not to mention, access to computers, barbershops, and laundry services. In addition, the Oasis hopes to have all their clients secure a stable source of food to end their hunger.
