Although the both of the girls are wearing the same style shirt, the young woman on the left has a blue collar while the girl on the right has a standard white collar. Furthermore, both of the girls are wearing skirts that are tan in color. Around both of their necks are lanyards that are yellow in color and at the end of their lanyards are badges that have their name as well as a photo of them. To the right of the girls is a trifold presentation board. The board is a representation of Mike McCoy’s life. On the left side of the trifold are few brief descriptions on certain aspects of Mikes Life. On the very top is his name “Big Mike McCoy” in bolded black letters. Under his name is a picture of his younger years when he was playing football going against a player from the opposing team. Furthermore, under this picture are two paragraph descriptions that detail his school years. In the first paragraph, it describes his time where he attended his Cathedral Prep School, as shown by the logo of the school above the paragraph. As for the second paragraph, this one describes his college life. Mike McCoy attended the University of Notre Dame where played football during his college years. You can see the logo of the University of Notre Dame right next to the young girls left wrist. On the right side of the trifold is Mike’s time in the NFL. Mike was selected by the Green Bay Packers as the second overall pick. Besides playing for the Green Bay Packers, Mike also played for the Raiders and the New York Giants. To the right of the trifold is the current day Mike McCoy as he wears a jersey with his number on it, where he has his hand on a young boy from the same school as the two young girls.
No matter what school you went to or currently going to, you or someone you know has been at risk of something. Whether its challenges from peer pressure or anything out of the ordinary, kids from all races, creeds, rich families, poor families and even middle class families have been thorough them. Mike McCoy from Mike McCoy Ministries knows that young kids and even young adults experience this in school. Like most people, Mike believes that the changes in our culture which were based on faith, family and friends has moved to more friends related and a little less family and faith oriented. Together with his faith and Mike McCoy Ministries, Mike has set out to help shift the minds of students to inspire hope.
Empowering the youth is the main goal of Mike and his ministry. Currently Mike McCoy Ministries speaks to school assemblies from grades 6-12. Mike plans on reaching out to 15 cities and wants to average 5 school assemblies. With an average of 110 students in ever assembly, the total students being reached is 8,250. In the assemblies, Mike McCoy Ministries has a faith-based message to encourage the students overcome their challenges in everyday life. Furthermore, the kids are age 9-18 where 35% are inner city kids, 20% are from low income families, 30% are from the middle class, and 15% are from the upper class. In addition, 70% of the kids are male and the remaining 30% are females.
Mike's passion is to allow the young kids to feel empowered which will allow them to see a bigger vision for their life. He receives a lot of comments about students thinking about suicide, cutting themselves, being abused sexually, and many suffering from depression. To make sure that all of Mike McCoy Ministries will continue helping those in need by talking about relevant things, at the end of all the assemblies, Mike McCoy hands out comment cards. These comment cards allow the students to provide feedback on what they liked about the assembly and what should be changed.
