Homelessness & unemployment are real problems today. There are a lot of adults and even children who are suffering out in the world without a place to call home. Around 20% of those who are experiencing homelessness were children under the age of 18. Having a place to call home is something that everyone in the world needs. To start addressing this problem in Central Florida, The Christian Sharing Center LifeBuilder began a 3-year program to help families who are homeless. The LifeBuilder’s goal is to move those families into stable living conditions.

To make sure that everything is going smoothly, LifeBuilder will provide dedicated case managers. The managers and families will agree to a contract that lays out a plan on how they will get to sustainability. Each month there will be financial reviews for each family with required workshops. During the first year, LifeBuilder will provide free clothing, food, and household goods. In addition, they will start to offer classes that will teach how to obtain housing and set goals. Each case will be supported with proper management and financial support to get them through the first year. In the second year, there will be more of the same help from the first year except financial support. Lastly, during the third year, there will be more of an emphasis of case management support. After the program, it is the hope that families will be successfully housed with a stable job for at least 2 years without assistance.
